As a feminist and human rights advocate, I've dedicated my career to dismantling systems of oppression and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. With 9 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I've worked tirelessly to advance the rights and empowerment of sexual and gender minorities in Nigeria and West Africa.
Currently, I serve as a member of the International Advisory Committee for the Power of Pride program, part of the CoC International network. In this role, I co-create inclusive programs that center the needs and voices of marginalized communities, fostering a culture of solidarity and collective action.
My expertise includes designing and implementing programs that promote gender equality, challenge patriarchal norms, and advance the rights of marginalized women. I've also contributed to the development of stakeholders reports for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), leveraging my knowledge to hold governments accountable for their human rights obligations.
Notably, I have extensive experience working on HIV prevention, treatment, and care initiatives, specifically targeting key affected populations in southeast Nigeria. I developed and implemented strategies aimed at ensuring the health needs of this population are met, addressing the complex intersections of HIV, gender, and sexuality.
As the Co-Executive Director of HER_Initiative, a feminist youth-led nonprofit in southeast Nigeria, I'm committed to creating a world where all individuals can live freely and authentically. I also serve as the National Secretary at Network for Rights and Community Inclusion (NeRCI), further solidifying my dedication to promoting human rights and social justice in Nigeria.
Through my work, I remain steadfast in my commitment to intersectional feminism, social justice, and human rights. I believe in the power of collective action and community-led initiatives to drive transformative change and create a more just and equitable world.
